about Asset Reliability Management

ARM integrates data from every available stream—corrosion audits, vibration sensors, and thermal imaging—into a cohesive decision-making engine. One of the most important tools in this engine is Risk-Based Inspection (RBI). In a massive chemical complex, it is impossible to inspect every inch of piping every year. RBI allows managers to prioritize their resources by calculating the Probability of Failure versus the Consequence of Failure. A pipe carrying water has a low consequence if it leaks; a pipe carrying pressurized sulfuric acid has a high consequence. ARM ensures the acid pipe gets the most attention.

Other key methodologies include Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which ensures that when a failure does happen, the "why" is identified so it never repeats, and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).

By optimizing the balance between preventive and predictive maintenance, organizations achieve higher "Uptime." This means fewer emergency repairs, better safety records, and the peace of mind that every dollar spent on maintenance is yielding the maximum possible return in asset availability.
